Scientist – Pichia pastoris Biotechnologist
Position
R&D activities are focused on the development of competitive knowledge on protein yield improvement in commercial production systems. Growth and market demand require expansion of our yeast expression group with a focus on the Pichia pastoris expression platform.
You are responsible for carrying out new methods to optimize protein production in the Pichia pastoris protein expression platform. In this position you will execute innovative research methods.
Daily activities comprise
- Designing and executing experiments
- Applying and developing Pichia knowledge
- Starting, fostering and expanding cooperation with commercial and non-commercial partners
- Concise reporting according to company guidelines and awareness of new intellectual property
- Implementation and transfer of standard operating procedures and protocols
- Critical evaluation of internal and external (scientific) studies
Profile Candidate
We are looking for a highly motivated and committed scientist dedicated to reach the short and long term goals of ProteoNic as part of a closely operating and ambitious team of professionals. You have a high working standard and appreciate the entrepreneurship required to work for a dynamic life science company.
You have knowledge on the specific aspects of (heterologous) gene expression in Pichia which is present in a university degree, preferably PhD, and/or solid experience in the field. Experience with commercial protein manufacturing, strain development, fermentation is a strong advantage. You are eager to learn and to perform experiments using a variety of techniques. An independent pro-active attitude is a must as well as a high working quality, comprising efficiency and reproducibility. Applicants preferably have a life science company employment record, especially with GLP/cGMP working experience. Good English writing and speaking skills are required.
